My English learning background
People always asked me how I learned English. Because I and beyond my classmates tend to be ahead on my English knowledge. But for me, it isn't enough. So yeah, my advantage in learning English is because I liked the language and for the very first time I've learned English, I know that English is important. And not just that, people who know me always about my English skills. Yes, I've joined a couple of English clubs, but still, they don't know what I am aiming for.
Now I'll be telling my story on my journey in learning English. At a young age, my mother introduced me to a card that has some letters on it and it was in English. And that was my first step in me getting to know about English. As time goes on, I've watched many western movies, tv shows, music, etc. Why? because I need to listen to how people speak in English. And as time went by, I started to try to speak in English word by word and I kept improving on my English capabilities in communicating. Listening done, speaking done, last but not least writing. My biggest weakness in knowing how to use English as a language is that I really hate spelling and reading. So, what I did is actually try to make a blog about my story that what is going on. But I've already deleted that blog because it was so outdated and I've never updated it. So, when high school years kicks in and I need to prepare myself for university, I need to learn about the many various English tests that students needed to take. My goal is actually to study abroad and that is to the United States, and some of the Universities only took IELTS tests, and my school only provides to prepare TOEFL. So, I've taken an IELTS prediction test for knowing my capabilities with my English. And the results are pretty bad haha, I've got 4.5 on my IELTS which is below average. So, I've searched for many IELTS preparation courses that I can take, but I wasn't sure about the effectiveness of the course provides. So while I was going to the mall (Pakuwon Mall), I was just wandering around and find something nice to visit. All of a sudden I've found a unique place called Wall Street English. So, I've taken the placement test and I got to level 5 and I was thinking "I can do better" So, I've taken another test where I needed to speak and I got to level 7 and I was like "alright I can accept that" but still I can prove them that I can do better, so I can improve my English and do great at IELTS.
So yeah, I've joined Wall Street English. And just at the beginning of my class at Wall Street English, I was pretty sure that I am getting the real deal. Yes, I'll be learning about English, but by bringing a pinch of fun in it. I mean who wouldn't want to do something fun right?
