The Encounter Test
The encounter test is where WSE members are tested on what they have learned. People found this that it is frustrating, or maybe interesting. How the English trainer will be doing the encounter test, will depend on the trainer on how he/she do the encounter.
Just on the 10th of November 2020, I had my first offline Encounter test and the previous one is online, and if we compare it with an online encounter test, It is completely a different experience. So, I highly prefer to choose offline because I can just be fun and don't just focus on the PowerPoint and do the encounter test "generally". So what I do like is to spice things up so I can be comfortable. What happened is that I was 13 minutes late because of the crazy traffic going on, but thank god it was a one on one encounter test, and I did it only for 30 mins ish. So my English trainer first asking me a simple question about what I like, and what I don't like. It was pretty simple, but until he asked me "how can we say about how we like or we don't like the most?" then I answered, "we can use superlatives". He wasn't expecting me to say that, and he was expecting me to say "can stand" or "can't stand". So yeah, even from the encounter test, you do not just review what you've learned but you can also improve on what you are capable of. And what's even better in an offline encounter test, it was like having a simple conversation. What happened is that my English teacher was mentioning what he didn't like on his vacation and it was related to his last trip, then I immediately guess that he went to Bromo the day before. And it ended with what we should do if we visit Bromo for a better experience. So, while I was having an encounter test I wasn't even nervous, I was actually didn't feel anything hahaha (in a good way). And I was having fun, so I feel very confident in passing the encounter.
