"The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing." — Walt Disney
You got that right, that's what the world-famous film producer said. Isn't that motivating? When we need to start something, do something and not just stand there and think. This quote would be very helpful to deal with life problems. So, why am I bringing out Walt Disney's quote to talk about English from the WSE perspective? As we all know, what we needed to do when we learn English is to master listening skills, reading skills, and also speaking skills. Those skills if being mastered would be helpful for you if you wanted to take an IELTS or TOEFL test. But if we try to think about it, English native speakers use fluent spoken English. It is because they used to speak English daily. Most countries that don't use English as their main language would have trouble learning how to speak in English, it is because of the lack of practice to speak in English.
WSE (Wall Street English), use a fully English environment. This gives the chance the members to practice talking in English. Based on my experience, I was known as a student who already knows so much about English. But, until I tried to speak in English, there are still some pauses while I am talking. Those filler words make talking very awkward to talk in English. But thanks to Wall Street English, I feel like having a huge on my speaking skills. And because of that, I have the encouragement to take a national speech competition, and thank goodness that one of the teachers is willing to help me to prepare the speech. And until then it became a habit, and I suddenly become bilingual 😂.
At this part, it may seem that having the ability to talk in English is wonderful. Not really, I have tons of experience that people are judging my intelligence just because of my English abilities. But I'd take that as a lesson that people are wanted to be like me, even if being seen as someone who is smart, is not that pleasing. But still, only having the ability to talk in a different language doesn't mean that I am super smart. Language is just a medium of communication, and it doesn't have any business with someone's intelligence. But by having that experience, doesn't affect me to learn English more.
